Dates and venues announced for 2021/2022 National events

We are excited to announce the dates and locations for our three National events for the 2021/2022 season.

2021 NZSS National Touch Championship
10th – 12th December 2021
Rotorua International Stadium and Ray Boord Park, Rotorua

2022 National Youth Touch Championship
11th – 13th February 2022
Nga Puna Wai Sports Hub, Christchurch

2022 National Touch Championship
3rd – 6th March 2022
Ongley Park and Manawaroa Park, Palmerston North

The calendar will see events held in three different locations throughout New Zealand, including Palmerston North, which has not seen a National touch event in over 9 years.

“There is a long standing history between Touch and the city of Palmerston North. We are extremely excited to reignite the connection and bring our touch members back to the birthplace of Junior Nationals” said Tournament Manager, Guy Barton.

The 27th NZSS National Touch Championship will again be held in the popular venue of Rotorua. This will be the second year the Tournament will be open entry and TNZ are hopeful this will see the event at its largest number of entries ever.

“We had over 100 team entries for NZSS in 2020 before the effects of Covid-19, so we are expecting this to rise with the open entry creating so many more opportunities for teams to be involved” stated Barton.

The South Island will again be humming with touch talent, seeing the 2022 Youth Nationals at Nga Puna Wai Sports Hub, Christchurch.

Guaranteed to be an impressive event, Christchurch City will not only showcase the rising stars of our game but the vibrant city and amazing setting from the mountains to the sea.

We are looking forward to showcasing these events alongside venue partners, Rotorua City Lakes Council, Christchurch City Council and Palmerston North City Council.
