We stopped by this afternoon to watch two of our Girls Grade teams in action!

Whakatane and Manukura put on a great game out in the sun, with plenty of touchdowns and skills on offer.

Manukura started off strong with a touchdown to Mia Waiariki after a nice scoop through from Selena Williams.

Whakatane got back in the game quickly though, with Taylah Hemopo scoring a great touchdown in the left-hand corner.

Taylor Kora then drew Whakatane level with a nice finish from Ngahaka Thrupp's scoop through the line.

The game remained tight until the second half when Manukura's Te Aomarama Rewiri-Wharerau broke through the line and managed a long runaway to make the score 3-2.

Nga-Leigh Hemopo got one back for Whakatane, but Manukura continued their strong second half to score three more touchdowns to Denae Te Huna, Braxton Te-Riini and Williams.

A great game out in the sun, with both teams impressing. Manukura just had too much in the second half.
