Touch New Zealand is proud to announce that Darrin Sykes and John Watson have been awarded Life Membership at the Annual General Meeting on Wednesday, 20th November 2024, in recognition of their outstanding contributions to the sport.

Darrin has served as National Director of Referees since 2011, holding key roles within Touch NZ and being recognised with the Federation of International Touch.

John has dedicated over 40 years to growing Touch in Canterbury and New Zealand. From founding a Touch module at his local rugby club to managing international teams and serving as Touch NZ President (2009–2018), his passion and leadership have left a lasting impact.

Both Darrin and John have played pivotal roles in shaping the sport, and we are honoured to celebrate their lifelong dedication to Touch.
