Touch New Zealand is proud to unveil the 2025/2026 National Events Calendar, featuring four National events hosted across Aotearoa.
With a strong focus on growth, inclusivity, and regional connection, the upcoming season is shaping up to be one of the most dynamic yet. We’re grateful for the continued support of our valued partners – Bunnings Warehouse, SAS Sport, ASICS, Silver Fern Sport, Rotorua Nui, Christchurch City Council, Upper Hutt City Council, NZCIS, and Hutt City Council – whose contributions help make these events possible.
The season kicks off in spectacular fashion from 11-14 December 2025 with the 30th edition of the Bunnings NZSS National Touch Championship at Rotorua International Stadium. This milestone event celebrates three decades of rangatahi from across the motu showcasing their talent and school pride. Following extensive consultation with key stakeholders, the championship will debut a refreshed four-day format – an exciting evolution that reflects the sport’s continued growth and future-focused approach.
After the summer break, attention turns to the South Island for the 2026 Bunnings National Youth Touch Championship, taking place from 6-8 February at the outstanding Ngā Puna Wai Sports Hub in Ōtautahi, Christchurch. Set over Waitangi weekend, the event promises high-level competition featuring the country’s most promising youth athletes.
Next, the spotlight moves to the central region for the 2026 Bunnings National Touch Championship, scheduled from 27 February-1 March 2026 at Trentham Memorial Park in Upper Hutt. This event marks a return to a vibrant local venue, supported by Upper Hutt City Council and NZCIS, and will feature thrilling matchups among Aotearoa’s elite-level players.
The season concludes with the 2026 Bunnings National Masters Touch Championship, taking place from 12-14 March 2026 at Fraser Park in Lower Hutt. This much-loved event will honour the passion, connection, and competitive spirit of our Masters athletes, in partnership with Hutt City Council.
Touch New Zealand is honoured to continue our journey alongside Principal Partner Bunnings, whose steadfast support plays a pivotal role in growing our game. Together with our host cities and venue partners, we look forward to delivering a season filled with connection, competition, and community.
