The full Metro squad will see the introduction of 20 debutants this season, including a young bunch of rising talent who will be supported and guided by the fifteen Touch Blacks on the squad roster.
Finlay Barnett will be looking to surpass his last performance after being re-named in the Metro Men’s squad for the 2020 Premier Touch League season. The winger scored an impressive 11 touchdowns in 2019, a feat only achieved by one other player in the league. The retention of veterans Mark Hodson and Sean Law will prove valuable as the team will be gunning for the title after a drop off loss cost them the final last season.
Metro Women will see strong connections across the board with the inclusion of two sister duos; Rebecca and Ruhia Tamati and Imogen Lagahetau and Kairirangi Edmonds. Le Toia Tainui-McIntyre will this year hang up her boots to take over co-coaching responsibilities alongside PTL newcomer Peter Samuels.
