Match report: Whanganui High vs Tokoroa High


It was a fast-paced and exciting match in the Mixed Grade between Whanganui and Tokoroa at the SAS Secondary School Nationals. 

The sun had decided to come out for this game, and the warm conditions meant plenty of touchdowns were scored.

Whangnui got out of the blocks first with Karihi Potaka scoring the first touchdown of the game, quickly followed by a reply from Chanae Wilson of Tokoroa.

Whanganui had a strong first half, lead by playmaker Harerangi Meihana, who both scored and set up a touchdown for Te Miringa Parks.

Tokoroa managed to get one back before halftime, with Owen Draper working hard to make things happen in the middle of the park.

However, Whanganui showed their class as they put on four more touchdowns in the second half, Ayzak Bennett and Mitchell Millar showed some great skill in getting this done.

Tokoroa added two more scores near the end of the game, Faith Tai and Braeen Uili getting across the line.
