Latest COVID Cluster and Government Announcement

To our Touch community

By now you will all be aware that there have been three positive COVID cases in Papatoetoe with some connection through to Taranaki

From midnight tonight Auckland moves to L3 and the rest of the country to L2 for the next three (3) days, with reviews every 24 hours.

This means that effectively Auckland will be closed for that period of time.  It is my understanding that people still in Auckland that are resident in other parts of the country will be able to leave Auckland and return home.  Please continue to monitor the Ministry of Health websites and news media reporting, particularly official government and MOH briefings for updates and any adjustments to the levels and travel restrictions.

Touch NZ has suspended all school and community Touch delivery in Auckland effective immediately and until the travel restrictions and COVID levels are favourably adjusted on Govt advice.  L3 also means no gatherings in Auckland larger than bubbles of 10 people therefore effectively cancelling all community Touch modules until there is a move back to L2/L1

The most significant change outside of Auckland is bubbles of no more than 100 people maximum for gatherings, which could impact on large community Touch module delivery

At this stage there is no demonstrable link between the positive cases and the Youth Nationals held at Bruce Pulman Park Papakura this past 3 days.  Should this change we will advise as soon as we are able.  In the meantime if you are unwell or have any COVID symptoms please stay home and contact the MOH for advice and get tested.  If you have been at Youth Nationals and have returned home and are concerned about sending your children back to school or returning to work yourself, please contact the school or your work to discuss this first.  Also continue to monitor the MoH website for any updates on places of interest related to the new positive cases.  If we become aware of any confirmed issues relates to the Youth Nationals we will advise asap

Please all take care, stay safe, and follow the guidelines issued through the Ministry of Health
